Steriale is a healthtech company that develops advanced solutions for hospitals for on-site treatment and management of infectious biological waste.
Founded in 2016 in Spain, our mission is to transform the way healthcare facilities manage their waste by offering safer, more efficient and sustainable solutions that benefit both our customers and the environment.
A hospital generates 4 kg of BIW per installed bed every day, and now more than ever, sustainable solutions are needed to immediately dispose of this potentially hazardous waste on-site.
Unfortunately, current solutions force hospitals and their managers to store BIW containers and plastic bags within their premises, until specialized trucks picks up and transport BIW’s to large plants, usually far away from major cities, for treatment and disposal.
Considering that traditional waste management services have safety and environmental risks, and generate a huge carbon footprint, we found it was necessary to design a solution that completely changes the current IWM paradigm, thus offering increased safety for staff involved, as well as eliminating high fossil fuel consumption of its current logistics solution, exponentially reducing greenhouse gases that pollute our environment.

Our History
Steriale Established
Steriale started up its operations focusing in the development of innovative patents. Today, these patents are granted in more than 40 countries, establishing Steriale as a leader in waste management technology.
Innovation and Technology
We developed the first prototypes and launched version 1.0 of our revolutionary Steriale App, marking a milestone in our technological offering.
Expansion and Recognition
A leading hospital in Spain becomes the first to adopt the Steriale system on a Demo basis. Later that year, we expand our global presence with the opening of subsidiaries in Colombia and Mexico.
Steriale in Brazil
We inaugurated Steriale do Brasil, consolidating our influence in Latin America and reinforcing our commitment to innovation in waste management.
European Union and Peru
We continued our expansion in the European Union and with the opening of Steriale in Peru, strengthening our network and service capacity globally.
Consolidation in Spain
We began official operations in Spain after obtaining all the necessary permits, a testament to our compliance and operational excellence. In addition, we participate in world-renowned hospital trade fairs, such as Hospitalar in São Paulo, FIME in Miami, and MEDICA in Germany.
Steriale Mexico
We officially started operations in Mexico, with our subsidiary based in Monterrey.
Steriale in the United States
This year marked the launch of Steriale USA, established in Delaware, along with the start of official operations in other countries, further expanding our global reach.
